Russia said its Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, tasked with preparing the summit between Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, had a "constructive" conversation, Reuters reported, BTA reported.
Lavrov and Rubio discussed possible concrete steps to implement the ideas reached during the telephone talks on October 16 between Russian leader Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced after the telephone conversation between the two, quoted by TASS.
Meanwhile, Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó announced today at a press conference broadcast live on his Facebook page that he would visit Washington tomorrow, Reuters reported.
US President Donald Trump said last Thursday that he would soon meet with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in Budapest to discuss the war in Ukraine.
Szijjártó did not give further details about who he would meet with in Washington, nor what the program of his visit to the United States was.
