Overnight, the Ukrainian Danube city of Izmail in the Odessa region was attacked with drones, damage was caused to the energy and port infrastructure, the operational headquarters of the Izmail regional state administration announced on Facebook, BTA reported.
The city's power supply is gradually being restored. The operational headquarters and all relevant services of the Izmail region are working to eliminate the consequences of the attack, the Izmail administration also reported.
According to the headquarters, all critical infrastructure is working. There were no injuries. The fires that broke out were quickly extinguished.
The Bulgarians in the Odessa region number over 150,000 people and are the third largest according to the latest official census in Ukraine. About 50-60 thousand Bulgarians live in the city of Odessa itself. The largest compact Bulgarian population is concentrated in the Bolgrad, Izmail and Belgorod-Dniester regions.
