The MP from the Croatian opposition conservative party “Most“ Marin Miletic has proposed that all 150 members of the Croatian parliament be tested for drugs once a year without warning, the Croatian news agency HINA reported, quoted by BTA.
Miletic presented the proposal yesterday during a debate on amendments to the Criminal Code, the Criminal Procedure Act and the Whistleblower Protection Act.
He stressed that drug abuse is one of the key challenges facing security and society in Croatia, with drug dealers being one of the greatest evils, destroying not only young people but also entire families.
The amendments to the Criminal Code provide for an increase in the minimum prison sentence for illegal production and trafficking of drugs from one to three years.
