Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky today urged his Hungarian counterpart Viktor Orban not to block his country's EU accession, Agence France-Presse reported, quoted by BTA.
"We would really like the Hungarian Prime Minister to support us or at least not block us", Zelensky said during a forum on EU enlargement organized by "Euronews" in Brussels.
The Ukrainian president added that he would like his country to join the EU before 2030.
Zelensky also called on the United States to remain open to supplying Kiev with long-range weapons for its military campaign against Russia.
The Ukrainian president addressed delegates at the EU enlargement meeting via videoconference from the Pokrovsk region in eastern Ukraine, where he also called for more sanctions against Russia – including on its gas and nuclear sectors.
