Denis Pushilin: Russian army expands its zone of control around Pokrovsk - 1

Russian troops are expanding their zone of control west of Krasnoarmeysk (Ukrainian name - Pokrovsk) near the village of Grishino. This was announced today by the head of the so-called. DPR Denis Pushilin, reports TASS.

"Our units continue to expand their zone of control in the vicinity of Krasnoarmeysk in the direction of Grishino, and here too there is an expansion of the zone of control", he said.

In Krasnoarmeysk itself, fighting continues, and the city is being cleared, he added.

"Various attempts to break through are being made by the enemy, but our soldiers are systematically doing their job", Pushilin noted.

In Dimitrov, Russian troops cleared multi-storey buildings and have taken fire control over all roads that the Ukrainian armed forces could use to exit the city, the head of the DPR explained.

Krasnoarmeysk and Dimitrov form an urban agglomeration. It is a key transport hub for the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in Donbass. A significant part of the supply and reinforcement routes to Chasov Yar passed through Konstantinovka. The city also played a key role in supplying Selidovo with ammunition. This city was the cornerstone of Ukrainian defense along the entire front line in the so-called DPR. By the end of October, the "Center" group of troops had surrounded Ukrainian forces in the Krasnoarmeysk and Dimitrov areas.

The Russian army is daily thwarting attempts to free enemy units, the TASS news agency reports. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, over the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost up to 280 fighters, an infantry fighting vehicle, a Kazakh armored fighting vehicle, and a 155-mm M777 howitzer, manufactured in the United States, in this sector of the front.
