Relatives of people who died from Covid-19 today called for the cancellation of all privileges, institutional and financial, enjoyed by former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, after investigation data highlighted once again the "chaotic" way in which the former leader dealt with the pandemic, Agence France-Presse reported, quoted by BTA.
In a statement by the organization "Covid-19 Bereaved Families for Justice - United Kingdom" ("COVID-19 Bereaved Families for Justice UK") is directly attacking Johnson, describing his actions during the pandemic as "one of the greatest betrayals of the British people in modern history".
The former prime minister must be held accountable and must no longer play any role in public life, the organization calls.
The relatives of the deceased are demanding the withdrawal of all privileges enjoyed by Johnson in connection with the positions he held so far, such as lifetime payments for former prime ministers, which can reach 115 thousand pounds a year.
An investigation published yesterday says that some of the 226 thousand deaths from Covid-19 in the United Kingdom could have been avoided if the British government had taken the threat of the virus.
