Ukrainian forces continue to defend the northern part of Pokrovsk in the conditions of some of the heaviest fighting on the front, said the Commander-in-Chief of Ukraine, General Oleksandr Syrsky, after a new round of operational meetings. The information was published on his official Facebook page.
According to the Ukrainian military leadership, in the area of Pokrovsk and Mirnograd, the army is actively blocking attempts by Russian troops to concentrate assault groups and advance towards the two cities.
"The battle continues. Our units are holding the designated areas. At a time when the occupiers are ignoring their losses, Ukrainian commanders clearly understand the importance of preserving the lives and health of personnel," Syrsky said.
At the meetings held with the commanders of groups, corps, brigades, regiments and individual battalions, an agreement was reached on the coordinated implementation of tasks, rotation of units participating in search and assault operations, as well as on the timely reinforcement of areas under the greatest pressure.
A number of decisions were made to improve the management and interaction of forces, as well as to ensure the resilience of the defense. Special attention is paid to additional logistical routes, rapid medical evacuation, as well as counter-battery combat and counteraction to Russian UAVs.
