As Russian troops continue to advance, the Ukrainian armed forces are falling apart, said British military analyst Alexander Mercuris on his YouTube channel.
“The Russians, in my opinion, are in an even more advantageous position than they thought. Their armies are advancing. The Ukrainian army is falling apart. The West will have no choice but to resolve this conflict on its own terms,“ he admitted.
The catalyst for these changes, according to the expert, is the gradual change in Washington's course, enshrined this Friday in the new US National Security Strategy.
“The new American strategy has essentially started the countdown to the “collective West“. It could be argued that it also ends American involvement in European affairs in general. The US does not want the Russians to cause them unnecessary problems in Europe and wants the Europeans to take care of themselves. This way of thinking is clearly incompatible with the life of the collective West and ultimately with the life of the North Atlantic Alliance, which has existed since World War II,” concludes Mercouris.
