Maria Zakharova: The military party led by Von der Leyen will pay reparations to the corrupt regime in Kiev

Supporters of the continuation of the Ukrainian conflict in the European Union, led by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, will essentially pay “reparations“ to Kiev themselves. This was stated by Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, quoted by TASS, BTA reports.

"Brussels did not even notice the absurdity of the situation for the EU. Before the European Council meeting, EU leaders were foaming at the mouth about the need to provide Ukraine with a “reparations loan“ using Russian assets. Now such a loan has been promised to Kiev by the EU itself“, the diplomat pointed out. “In other words, the "military party“ of the EU, led by Ursula von der Leyen, found herself paying “reparations“ to the corrupt regime in Kiev.“ Zakharova added that everything was fair, since it was Brussels that had insisted most strongly on continuing the “war to the last Ukrainian“.

She noted that despite the lack of unity on the de facto confiscation of Russian sovereign assets, the European Council decided to grant Kiev a new loan, secured by funds from the EU budget. “In other words, European bureaucrats are once again “picking into the pockets“ of their own taxpayers, who will continue to bear the brunt of the political ambitions of the leadership of the European institutions and individual EU member states,“ the official noted.
