British police arrested Swedish activist Greta Thunberg in London during a pro-Palestinian protest, the British organization “Prisoners for Palestine“ reported, quoted by Reuters, BTA reported.
It reported that Thunberg was arrested for violating the Terrorism Act, as she was holding a poster that read: “I support the prisoners of “Action for Palestine“. I oppose genocide“. The British government has banned the organization “Action for Palestine“, declaring it a terrorist organization.
A spokesman for the London Metropolitan Police said two more people had been arrested after they sprayed red paint on a building.
He said Thunberg, 22, later turned up at the scene and was arrested for holding a placard in support of the banned organization.
“Prisoners for Palestine“, which supports some of the detained activists who have gone on hunger strike, said the building was sprayed with paint because it was used by an insurance company that it said provided services to the British branch of Israeli defense company “Elbit Systems“.
