These countries are seeking a ceasefire and guarantees for the security of Ukraine, part of which could be a military contingent stationed on Ukrainian territory, far from the front.
Russia has repeatedly stated that such conditions are unacceptable to it.
"We are moving towards security guarantees that will occupy a central place in building a just and lasting peace," Macron added.
On Sunday evening, Macron participated together with other European leaders in a video conference with Volodymyr Zelensky and Donald Trump after their bilateral talks at Mar-a-Lago.
