Federal agents have shot another man in Minneapolis, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz said, calling for an immediate end to the Trump administration's immigration enforcement operations in the state, world agencies reported, quoted by BTA.
“I just spoke to the White House after another horrific shooting by federal agents this morning“, Walz wrote on the social network “Ex“. “This is disgusting. The president must end this operation. Pull the thousands of violent and untrained officers out of Minnesota. "Right away," he added.
Minneapolis officials confirmed they were investigating reports of a man who had been shot on the city's south side.
"We ask the public to remain calm and avoid the immediate area," the Minneapolis city government said in a statement.
Details of the shooting are not yet clear, the Associated Press reported.
Thousands of demonstrators protesting the crackdown on immigrants filled the streets of Minneapolis despite the cold weather on Thursday, calling on federal law enforcement to leave the city.
Protesters have been gathering daily in the city since Jan. 7, when Renee Goode, a 37-year-old mother of three, was shot and killed by a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer.
