President Volodymyr Zelensky is ready for a personal meeting with Vladimir Putin, during which the two would resolve the most sensitive issues of the peace plan - the territories and the Zaporizhzhia NPP, but Russia remains the main obstacle to the peace process, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga said in an interview with “European Pravda“, quoted by Ukrinform, BTA reports.
The head of Ukrainian diplomacy noted that Ukraine is waiting for the 20-point peace plan to be signed if an agreement is reached on it, since the two most sensitive issues remain unresolved.
“It is precisely in order to resolve these issues that the president is ready to meet with Putin and discuss them. "However, Russia continues to be an obstacle to the peace process," Sibiga said.
In response to a question about who is delaying the peace plan and what the status of this document will be, the minister explained that the 20-point framework is currently a bilateral document that is to be signed by the United States and Ukraine.
“As for Russia, it will be signed by the United States. At the moment, this is the structure that is being discussed, but negotiations are still ongoing. This is a process. At the same time, the European side supports us, it is present in the peace process and in the security guarantee agreements," he noted.
Zelensky earlier said that Putin does not want to end the war, but Russia's army and economy are very exhausted, Ukrinform recalls.
