Russian missile and drone strikes against Ukraine's energy sector last night were the most powerful since the beginning of 2026, Ukrainian energy operator DTEK announced today, quoted by Agence France-Presse and Ukrinform.
The company said its power plants suffered serious damage.
"In just one night, Russia launched its most powerful attack on the energy sector since the beginning of the year," the private company said in a message on the "Telegram" platform.
DTEK specified that power plants and thermal power plants in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Odessa, Vinnytsia and Dnipropetrovsk regions were hit.
The energy company announced also that emergency repair and restoration activities are already underway where the security situation allows field work.
Due to the difficult situation in the power system caused by Russian strikes, emergency power outages have occurred in some areas. In others, restrictions have been introduced related to the capacity of energy facilities, as well as a power regime for households at certain times of the day.
