The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFK) today denied Russia's claims that it captured Ternovatoye in the southeastern Zaporizhia region, Ukrinform reported, BTA reported.
The village is located near the administrative border with Dnipropetrovsk region - an area where the Russian army has announced that it has recently captured several settlements.
In a statement published on "Telegram", the AFK denied that Ternovatoye had fallen and commented that this was another of the "well-known flag-planting operations" by the Russian side.
These Ukrainian claims have not been independently verified. Russia has not commented on them so far.
Russia announced a few days ago that it had captured another village in eastern Ukraine, TASS reported. The Russian Defense Ministry reported in its daily briefing about the capture of Pridorozhnye in the southeastern Zaporizhia region.
This village is located in the northeastern part of the region, near the administrative border with the Dnipropetrovsk region. The Russian Defense Ministry commented in a statement that with the capture of Pridorozhnye "assault groups of the "East" group of troops continue to expand their zone of control in the Zaporizhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions". A Ukrainian defense zone with an area of over 3 square kilometers has passed under Russian control.
