NATO is expected to launch the "Arctic Sentry" mission in the coming days, five sources told "Reuters".
The alliance aims to strengthen its role in the region and reduce tensions between US President Donald Trump and European allies over Greenland.
A decision to launch it could be made as early as this week when NATO defense ministers meet in Brussels, three European diplomats, a military official and a person familiar with the matter said.
