Lavrov: Ukraine talks continue, but we have a long way to go - 1

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Monday that talks on Ukraine are continuing, but there is still a long way to go, Reuters and TASS reported.

"Negotiations on Ukraine continue, but we have a long way to go," he said.

"(US President Donald) Trump's actions should not be welcomed until peace is established in Ukraine. We should not be delighted that President Trump has "put the Europeans and (Ukrainian President Volodymyr) Zelensky in their place. "All this is good if we want to achieve peace in Ukraine, but we are not there yet," he added, quoted by TASS.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov yesterday indirectly accused the United States of breaking its word regarding the war in Ukraine. He said this in an interview with “BRICS TV“, DPA reported.

“Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump agreed on the principles for resolving the conflict at their meeting in Alaska in August“, Lavrov said. “The US has already given up on this“, he believes. In the interview, Lavrov said that Russia is ready for full cooperation with the US for mutual benefit.
