Increased military spending by European countries and Canada will make NATO allies more equal partners within the Alliance. This was stated by US Deputy Secretary of Defense Elbridge Colby, quoted by "Reuters".
"In 2025, we saw a real commitment from Europe to lead NATO's conventional defense," the Pentagon's policy chief said before a meeting with NATO defense ministers in Brussels.
"Now is the time to move forward together, to be pragmatic, we have a really strong basis for working together in partnership, for a NATO based on partnership, not dependency. "Truly a return to what NATO was originally intended to be," he stressed.
