A military police building collapsed on the territory of a military unit in the town of Sertolovo, Leningrad Region, after an explosion, Russian media and regional authorities reported, quoted by "Reuters"

The governor of the Leningrad Region, Alexander Drozdenko, confirmed the incident in a post on Telegram, specifying that the explosion occurred in the military police building. He did not give further details about the causes.

According to information on the Mash Telegram channel, two people died in the explosion. It is also reported that there may be four more people under the rubble.

Drozdenko said that he had ordered law enforcement agencies to assist the military in clearing the rubble and rescuing the injured. Teams from Lenoblpozhspas and the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) are working on the scene.

The causes of the incident are being clarified. Official information on the number of injured has not been published at the moment.
