Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu today threatened Iran with a crushing response if the Islamic Republic attacks Israel, following a new warning from US President Donald Trump to Tehran, Agence France-Presse reported, quoted by BTA.
"We are prepared for every scenario and one thing is certain - if the ayatollahs make the mistake of attacking us, they will face a retaliatory blow they cannot even imagine", Netanyahu said in an address during a graduation ceremony for cadets from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), broadcast on Iranian television, the Israeli newspaper "Times of Israel".
The Israeli prime minister also said that Israel "is working side by side with its great ally, the United States" to counter the Iranian threat.
He added that during his meeting with Trump last week, he explained "Israel's position on the guiding principles of any negotiations with Iran".
