Ukraine said it had neutralized 106 of the 120 drones Russia had used to attack it last night, Ukrainian news agency Ukrinform reported, citing a statement by the Ukrainian Air Force on "Telegram", BTA reported.
From 6:00 p.m. yesterday, February 20, Russian forces began attacking Ukraine with one "Iskander-M" ballistic missile, 120 "Shahed", "Gerbera" and "Italmas" drones and other types of aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles.
The air attack was repelled by Ukrainian aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare forces and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
As of 08:30 local time today, February 21, Ukrainian forces had shot down and silenced 106 drones over the territory of Ukraine.
Russian air defense forces destroyed and intercepted 77 Ukrainian drones over regions of Russia last night, the Russian Defense Ministry reported today, quoted by TASS.
"Overnight, air defense forces on duty intercepted and destroyed 77 Ukrainian aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles: 24 - over the territory of the Krasnodar Territory, (. . .), 9 - over the territory of Kursk region, 9 - over the territory of Rostov region, 8 - over the territory of Belgorod region, 5 - over the territory of Samara region, 4 - over the waters of the Sea of Azov, 3 - over the territory of Saratov region, 1 - over the territory of Volgograd region and 1 - over the territory of Voronezh region", the Russian military ministry said in a statement.
It was also reported that 13 drones were shot down over the territory of the Ukrainian Crimean peninsula.
