Romania will continue to provide all the necessary support to Ukraine to defend itself and negotiate peace from a position of strength, President Nikusor Dan wrote on his official profile on the Ex social network. He made the comment immediately after his participation yesterday via video conference in the meeting of the so-called “Coalition of the Willing“, dedicated to Ukraine and the fourth anniversary of the start of the war there, BTA reported.
In his publication, the Romanian head of state salutes the courage of the Ukrainians.
“Ukraine is fighting with dignity and courage to protect us all, and we are grateful for that. Such a long period of war makes the resilience of the Ukrainian people even more admirable“, noted Nikusor Dan.
He stressed the importance of establishing security guarantees against new aggressions.
„This remains essential for us, because the security of Romania and the entire continent is closely linked to that of Ukraine“, the head of state stressed.
Last night, the Romanian presidential palace in Cotroceni and the parliament building in Bucharest were illuminated in the colors of the Ukrainian flag.
