Ukraine is in dire need of missiles for Patriot systems to protect itself from Russian ballistics. This was stated today by Defense Minister Mikhail Fedorov, RBC-Ukraine reports, quoted by Focus.
''We have a critical shortage of PAC-3 missiles (for Patriot.) for air defense to protect itself from Russian ballistics. We also talked with the president about creating joint consortia with partners for faster production of anti-ballistic missiles, the head of the Ministry of Defense noted.
Fedorov believes that Ukraine has great potential to independently produce anti-ballistic complexes and missiles.
''This requires a separate project - the mathematics there is complicated, it takes more time. But Ukraine definitely needs to develop its own projects,'', the minister is categorical.
