The French Foreign Minister said that if the drone neutralized by the Swedish army not far from the French aircraft carrier "Charles de Gaulle" turns out to be Russian, it would be a "ridiculous provocation", reported Agence France-Presse, quoted by BTA.
The drone was spotted and its signal was jammed by the Swedish military on Wednesday about 13 kilometers from the "Charles de Gaulle" in the Øresund Strait, near Malmö, where the aircraft carrier arrived to take part in several NATO exercises.
"If indeed, as the Swedish Ministry of Defense suggests, this incident is of Russian origin, the only conclusion that can be drawn is that it was a ridiculous provocation," French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot said during a press conference on board the aircraft carrier.
