A Russian drone has damaged a civilian ship flying a Panamanian flag and carrying corn near the Ukrainian port of Chernomorsk in the Odessa region of the Black Sea, the Ukrainian port authority said, quoted by "Reuters".
The ship was hit as it was leaving the port. The port authority did not specify the extent of the damage.
The Ukrainian Navy reported that one crew member was injured in the attack on the BULL ship, which had left the port and was heading towards the Bosphorus.
The captain refused assistance and evacuation of the wounded and continued on his designated route.
Ukraine conducts about 90% of its exports through the port hub in Odessa.
In recent months, Russia has attacked the country's maritime export arteries, including ports that are crucial for foreign trade and the survival of its economy during wartime.
Attacks on port infrastructure have caused a surge in logistics and freight costs and have hurt local businesses, forcing them to lower their prices to remain competitive on the global market.
