Budapest will “stop transit supplies through Hungary“, which are important for Ukraine, if Kiev does not resume the transportation of Russian crude oil through the “Druzhba“ pipeline. This was stated by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, quoted by Reuters, BTA reported.

Orban again accused the Ukrainian authorities of blackmail and stressed that Budapest will use all available means until oil supplies are restored.

“We stopped the export of diesel to Ukraine, but we still maintain the export of electricity. "We will also stop transit supplies passing through Hungary, which are important for Ukraine, until we receive Kiev's approval to resume oil supplies," Orbán said in an interview with the country's national radio.

Yesterday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that the "Druzhba" oil pipeline, which was damaged in January, could be technically ready to resume operation in about a month and a half.

At a briefing in Kiev, Zelensky said that the pipeline's infrastructure, which is a key route for Russian oil supplies to Central Europe, could be restored within that time frame after it was damaged in a Russian air strike in January.
