US forces carried out a large-scale precision strike on Kharg Island in Iran last night, the US Central Command announced today, quoted by Reuters, BTA reports.
“US forces have successfully struck more than 90 Iranian military targets“, the Central Command announced.
Last night, US President Donald Trump said that US forces have completely destroyed all military targets on Kharg, which is a key terminal for exporting Iranian oil.
Trump also said that "for reasons of decency, I decided not to destroy the oil infrastructure on the island. "However, if Iran or anyone else decides to do anything to disrupt the free and safe passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz, I will immediately reconsider that decision."
On Kharg Island, about 30 kilometers off the coast, is Iran's largest oil export terminal, which provides about 90% of the country's crude oil exports, according to a recent estimate by the American bank "JP Morgan".
