From this morning to 4 p.m. (Bulgarian time) today, 91 battles with the Russian army were registered on Ukrainian territory, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said, quoted by Ukrinform, BTA reported.
The regular report published on "Facebook" says that the Russian army has focused its main efforts on three directions in the Donetsk region - Konstantinovsky, Pokrovskoye and Limansky.
The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, for its part, announced today two captured villages in this eastern Ukrainian region, TASS reported.
We are talking about Pavlovka in Konstantinovsky district and Fedorovka 2 in Limansky city municipality in Kramatorsk region.
The claims of both sides in the conflict have not been independently verified.
Representatives of the Russian armed forces told TASS that the capture of Pavlovka increases pressure on Ukrainian troops in the town of Druzhkovka and tightens the noose around Konstantinovka. Control of Fedorovka II opens the way for an offensive on Kramatorsk and Slavyansk, the two largest cities in Donetsk Oblast, which remain in the hands of the Ukrainian army, the cited sources added.
According to geolocation maps published on the website of the American think tank Institute for the Study of War, Russian armed forces are on the southern outskirts of Konstantinovka and are located a few kilometers from Druzhkovka, Kramatorsk and Slavyansk.
Russia claims to have captured over 80% of Donetsk Oblast, which it announced as annexed in September 2022. Its demand that Ukraine withdraw its troops from the rest of the region is one of the main stumbling blocks in the peace talks that the two countries are conducting with the mediation of the United States.
