The British government today gave formal permission for the United States to use UK military bases to strike Iranian targets from which the Islamic Republic launches missiles at ships in the Strait of Hormuz, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.
British ministers discussed the situation in Iran and the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz at a meeting today, a government statement said.
"They confirmed that the agreement for the US to use British bases for collective self-defense in the region includes US defensive operations to destroy missile sites and capabilities used to attack ships in the Strait of Hormuz," the statement from "Downing Street" also said.
