US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that Venezuela has already passed the stabilization stage and is in the recovery phase.
According to him, the US plan for the country includes three phases, the first of which - stabilization of the situation in Venezuela - has already been completed. “The second phase is recovery; we are currently in the recovery phase“, he said in an interview with Fox News.
According to him, Venezuela is experiencing an economic recovery that is favorable to the US. "They supply oil to our refineries, and the proceeds are deposited in US-controlled accounts," he said, stressing that these funds "will not be stolen, but will be used for the benefit of the Venezuelan people."
The next stage for the country, according to Rubio, will be a transitional phase that includes holding free and fair elections in the country.
"That moment must come, but we must be patient," the US Secretary of State said.
