NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte will travel to the United States next week for the first time since the start of the war in Iran, Alliance spokeswoman Alison Hart said.
“I can confirm that NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte will travel to the United States next week“, Reuters quoted her as saying.
Hart stressed that the visit had been “long planned“.
The news of Rutte's trip came after reports of US President Donald Trump's intention to review all aspects of US membership in NATO after the bloc refused to engage in war with Iran.
