Three of the hostages held in a nightclub in the Dutch city of Ede have been released, the world agencies reported, quoted by BTA.
A little earlier, Dutch police said a gunman was holding several people hostage in a nightclub in the eastern Dutch city of Ede, and that around 150 homes in the area had been evacuated. The area is cordoned off.
Law enforcement said there was no indication the hijacker was acting on terrorist motives. According to sources of the local "Telegraaf" the man has weapons and explosives.
Special police units are deployed at the scene, and residents of Ede are urged not to approach the area of the hostage crisis.
A reporter for the TV channel NOS reported that there was a remote-controlled robot and sappers at the scene of the incident.
Due to the hostage crisis in the city, trains to and from Ede were cancelled.
