Aleksandar Vucic in Paris: We will soon sign a contract for the Rafale fighters - 1

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said today at a Serbian-French business forum in Paris that Belgrade is very close to signing a contract for the supply of new French Rafale multi-purpose fighter jets, Tanjug reported, quoted by BTA.

"I have news – with the French company "Dasso" (Dassault Aviation) we are very close to signing a major contract for the purchase of flares. And that's what we talked about last night with President (of France) Emmanuel Macron," said Vucic.

He added that he was grateful to Macron for helping a lot in this matter.

Vucic is on a two-day visit to France at the invitation of French President Macron, with whom he met yesterday, and today he spoke with French Defense Minister Sebastien Lecorneux.

A good and meaningful conversation with Minister Sébastien Lecorneau about cooperation between our Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Defense of France, our defense industries, different kinds of experience and technology, as well as the supply of the most advanced weapons and tools for defense purposes, wrote Vucic on his Instagram profile.

At the business forum today, Vucic said that the state of Serbia's finances is good and that the country's credit rating is rising.

The Serbian president pointed out that the international rating agency "Standard and Poor's" (Standard&Poor’s) has upgraded the country's rating and it is now on the verge of an investment grade, which Serbia would probably get if it were a member of NATO or the EU.
