A mass evacuation was announced in the city of Orenburg in Russia due to the rising waters of the Ural River, BNR reported.
In the last 10 hours, the river level has risen by 40 centimeters, reaching 11:43 meters or about 2 meters above the critical level. The water is expected to remain at peak levels for several days, then begin to gradually decline. "Take with you documents, medicine and essentials and leave your homes immediately. The situation is critical, don't waste time!", wrote in "Telegram". the mayor of the city Sergey Salmin.
More than 10,000 residential buildings were flooded in the entire Orenburg region, 40% of them cannot be restored. The Ministry of Health reported 14 hospitalizations. The federal state of emergency introduced on April 7 remains in force in the region. Three villages were also flooded in the Siberian Tomsk region, where the level of the Tom River rose. The evacuation of people also continues in neighboring Kazakhstan, where about 100,000 people were forced to leave their homes.
