Tough battle for Chasov Yar! Russian army seeks four-pronged offensive

Taking Chasov Yar under the control of the Russian army will turn it into a springboard for four-pronged offensives, reports the Canadian CBC News.

If Russia succeeds in capturing the city, it will become a springboard for attacks on several other cities: Konstantinovka and Druzhkovka in the west, as well as the larger Kramatorsk and Slavyansk in the north.

Military analysts point out that these settlements form the backbone of Ukrainian defense in the Donetsk region.

"The capture of the city of Chasov Yar will open a shortcut for the advance of Russian forces to the so-called fortress cities in Donbass".
