Ten Ukrainian servicemen completed F-16 fighter maintenance training in the Netherlands, Ukrinform reported, citing referred to a message from the Dutch Ministry of Defense, writes BTA.
According to the ministry, the course was focused on servicing the pilot's equipment, including the helmet, the oxygen system, the parachutes and the survival kit, enabling him to survive for several days in an emergency landing, which includes, among other things, food and medicines.
The aim of the training was to prepare the pilots for all possible risks when operating the F-16, which will also provide better protection for the Ukrainian pilots.
Earlier, the Netherlands announced that it was ready to hand over at least 24 F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine. In addition, it has so far provided 11 F-16 fighter jets for pilot training at the European Pilot Training Center in Romania. The first fighters should be delivered to Ukraine in the second half of the year.
