Turkey defined Israel's operation to free Israeli hostages in Gaza as “barbaric attack” and accused Tel Aviv of war crimes, reported DPA, quoted by BTA.
„With this latest barbaric attack, Israel has added another to the list of war crimes it has committed in Gaza,” the Turkish Foreign Ministry said today, without mentioning the rescue of the hostages.
Yesterday the Israeli military freed four people who were kidnapped from the territory of Israel during the bloody attack by the Palestinian Islamist movement “Hamas” on October 7. The rescued were found in the center of the Gaza Strip after eight months in captivity.
There were reportedly heavy airstrikes and artillery fire during the rescue mission. Television pictures showed many casualties and an overcrowded hospital.
Representatives of “Hamas” reported that 210 Palestinians were killed and about 400 wounded in the Nuseirat refugee camp. in the Gaza Strip, one of the locations where the operation took place. The information could not be independently verified.
The Israeli army said it was verifying the information. Israeli army spokesman Daniel Hagari said there were fewer than 100 casualties.
The Health Ministry of “Hamas” and medical sources in the Gaza Strip earlier reported 55 deaths.
