The Yemeni Houthi rebels announced today that they attacked the American aircraft carrier "Dwight Eisenhower" in the Red Sea, reported Reuters. The attack partially achieved its goals, the group specified, writes BTA.
The pro-Iranian movement also announced that it had conducted a military operation against a ship in the Arabian Sea. Since November last year, the Houthis have been attacking vessels in the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandeb strait, which they see as a connection to Israel.
Their actions are a sign of solidarity with the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, where Israel launched an offensive after the unprecedented attack on Israeli territory by the radical Palestinian movement "Hamas" on October 7 last year, Reuters recalls.
In response to Houthi attacks on ships, the US launched a military mission to protect commercial vessels in the region.
