Medvedev revealed Putin's real plan for Ukraine: it differs from anything we've heard so far - 1

Former President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev revealed the true purpose of the war against Ukraine, Newsweek reported. It differs from everything we have heard so far from the Kremlin.

Officially, Moscow even says that it is ready for peace negotiations, and at the beginning of the special military operation (as they call the war in Russia), the goal, according to the Kremlin, was the overthrow of Volodymyr Zelensky's regime. However, the real goal has always remained one: complete conquest of Ukraine.

Dmitry Medvedev, Russia's former president and prime minister, said Russia would seek to occupy the “remaining (Ukrainian) lands” even if Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky agreed to the Kremlin's latest peace terms. Russia no longer hides that its only goal is the capitulation of Ukraine.

Medvedev, who is now the deputy chairman of Russia's Security Council, has confirmed that Russia will not accept or maintain any negotiated peace accords with Kiev short of Ukrainian capitulation, the destruction of the entire Ukrainian state and the full occupation of Ukraine, analyzed his words the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

On June 14, Putin said Ukraine should abandon any plans to join the NATO military alliance. In addition, according to Putin, Ukraine should recognize Crimea and four occupied regions as Russian.

However, Medvedev's words completely contradict what Putin said and include the annexation of all of Ukraine, not just parts of it. Focus.de also points out that Medvedev's remarks contradict Vladimir Putin's recent declarations of his desire for peace.

News.de points out that anyone who believes that Putin is interested in ending the war is wrong. Even the peace agreement will not end the war in Ukraine.

When Medvedev ruled the Kremlin, he was considered Russia's liberal hope. There is no trace of it anymore. Since the start of the war in Ukraine in February 2022, the former Russian president has repeatedly made headlines with provocative posts on social networks. He despises Western nations, fiercely defends "special military operation" in Ukraine and has repeatedly threatened the West with nuclear strikes if the US, France, Germany and other countries continue to support Ukraine.

Now Medvedev forgot himself again and revealed Vladimir Putin's true plans for Ukraine. Because while the Kremlin leader lets the world believe that he is interested in a peace agreement, Dmitry Medvedev knows that this is not the case. Even if Ukraine and Russia agree on a peace treaty, according to Medvedev, this will not lead to an end to the fighting.

Ukraine, for its part, indicates that it will conduct negotiations only after the withdrawal of Russian troops from the occupied lands. Kiev says Russian terrorists cannot be negotiated with as long as they continue to attack Ukrainian cities and slaughter innocent children.
