Five civilians were killed and three others were wounded in Russian attacks on the Donetsk region, Reuters reported. During the strikes, damage was caused to houses and a residential building, the prosecutor's office announced, BTA reports.
A woman and her husband were killed by artillery shelling in the village of Pleshcheevka, the chief prosecutor's office reported in "Telegram". Three other women were killed in a strike that hit residential buildings in the village of Grodovka, added the investigation.
In another attack by the Russian military, with two guided bombs, a man and a woman were injured in their home in the village of Velika Novosilka, the prosecutor's office said. Another man was injured during artillery shelling in the town of Zalizne, the publication says.
Ukraine's Donetsk region, which is partially occupied by Russian troops, is regularly subjected to shelling and airstrikes by Russian forces.
Moscow has denied attacking civilians or civilian infrastructure during its invasion of Ukraine, although thousands of civilians have been killed or injured in Russian attacks, Reuters notes.
