Russia must first stop the war in Ukraine if it wants to avoid the deployment of American long-range missiles in Germany, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz told journalists today, quoted by Reuters, writes BTA.
"The first thing Russia must do is stop its terrible war of aggression against Ukraine and give up trying to conquer the whole country," Scholz said at his annual summer press conference, which covered a wide range of topics.< /p>
Scholz also noted that Germany has not yet decided to end arms supplies to Israel despite last week's damning report by the UN International Court of Justice.
When asked by journalists whether the report, which declares Israeli settlements in the Palestinian territories illegal, could change Germany's position on military support for Israel, Scholz said his government had not made a decision on the subject.
