Ukraine expects to receive the first $3.9 billion in the coming weeks . dollars from the direct budget support of the United States, the amount of which this year totals 7.85 billion dollars, said Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal, quoted by Ukrinform, writes BTA.
Shmigal wrote this in "Telegram" after meeting with the US special representative for the economic recovery of Ukraine Penny Pritzker.
"We discussed issues related to the work of the Interagency Platform for Donor Coordination. Funding of budget spending, recovery projects and support for the energy sector remain our priorities. Ukraine is grateful for the direct budget support in the amount of 7.85 billion dollars, which is expected to be provided by the United States this year. We expect to receive the first $3.9 billion in the coming weeks," Shmigal said in a Telegram post.
The Prime Minister thanked the USA for supporting the decision of the G-7 countries to provide 50 billion dollars to Ukraine at the expense of future proceeds from the frozen Russian assets.
The Ukrainian government is introducing a systematic approach to financing economic recovery projects, added Shmigal. He noted that the first meeting of the Council for Strategic Investments of the Government of Ukraine was held recently. In the next two months, it is expected to approve the list of public investment projects for 2025, which will be presented to Ukrainian partners.
In addition, Shmygal thanked the American side for the new energy aid in the amount of 500 million dollars and for the redirection of 324 million dollars announced in June for urgent needs in the Ukrainian energy sector.
"We appreciate the fact that the United States unwaveringly stands shoulder to shoulder with Ukraine in our fight for freedom," Shmigal concluded.
