There are fears nine people are trapped under the rubble of a hotel in the German state of Rhineland -The Palatinate, which has partially collapsed. DPA reported, referring to a statement by the local police from today, BTA reported.
Rescue operations in the town of Kroef on the Mosel River continue.
"Several people managed to leave the building in time. They are currently being examined by emergency teams," police said.
Features from the scene show collapsed parts of a multi-story building, with concrete debris on the ground. The public broadcaster SWE Air (SWR) informed that the arriving fire brigade initially did not enter the building due to the risk of further collapses.
People in neighboring buildings were evacuated. At the moment, the cause of the collapse is not clear, DPA clarifies.
