Turkey plans to take fingerprints of Bulgarians entering the country - 1

The Turkish authorities plan to take fingerprints fingerprints of foreigners arriving in the country. This was announced by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Turkey, Ali Yerlikaya, to the pro-government newspaper "Sabah", BTA reported.

We are working on a project that provides for fingerprints to be taken when entering Turkey, as is the case in the USA and Great Britain, the minister said, without specifying when the implementation of the project is planned to begin.

Yerlikaya indicated that the authorities will issue ID cards with a chip (with biometric information) for those who have been granted temporary protection status in the country. This mainly applies to citizens of Syria who live in Turkey.

The Minister of Internal Affairs noted that it is impossible to falsify such documents and their production has already begun. According to data from the Turkish Ministry of the Interior, there are 4.4 million foreigners in the country, of which 3.1 million are Syrian citizens. According to unofficial data, the number of foreigners in the country (mainly migrants from the Middle East) is much higher.
