In eight districts of Turkey, including Izmir, Ayden, Manisa, Bolu, Karabük, Ushak, the fires that broke out a few days ago continue to rage, writes BTA.

Day and night, the fight against the fiery elements continues by air and land, said the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Ibrahim Yumaklu to TRT-Haber. 3 planes, 15 helicopters, 60 bulldozers and thousands of firefighters are involved in extinguishing the fire in Izmir by air.

The authorities have detained a total of eleven people – seven in Izmir and four in Bolu, suspected of causing the fires. Two of them are in custody.

So far, 4,159 people have been evacuated to a safe place, Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced on his account on the "X" network. 13.5 million Turkish liras were transferred from the Ministry's budget to the Disaster and Emergency Management Directorate (AFAD) for the evacuation of people.

The situation in the Izmir region continues to be critical. The fight to extinguish the forest fires that broke out on Saturday, which affected three neighborhoods in the city, continues.

Yesterday, another fire broke out in the village of Urla near Izmir. Residents of 400 homes were evacuated in the resort village where the flames reached, said the mayor of Izmir Suleiman Elban to Haberler. He pointed out that the investigation into the cause of the fire revealed that it was caused by an electrical cable. The strong wind fanned the flames and they quickly reached the homes. AFAD teams, as well as teams from the fire department in Izmir, the gendarmerie, the police and the civil defense were involved in the suppression.

In the Bolu area, the fight against the fiery element continues. The fire there is not completely under control, but it has been extinguished in many places. An investigation is underway into the cause of the fire, which is believed to have started from burning stubble. That's why we warn people to be extremely careful, Bolu governor Erkan Kulac told journalists. He emphasized that additional measures have been taken for the safety of people and animals, and that evacuation is not required at the moment.

"In order to extinguish the fires in Izmir, Aydin and Bolu, two additional firefighting helicopters were sent, with a total of 13 helicopters participating in the firefighting,'' according to information on the website of the Turkish Ministry of National Defense.

Turkish media reported that a plane was sent from Azerbaijan to extinguish the fires.
