The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky released Mykola Oleschuk from the post of Air Force Commander of The Armed Forces of Ukraine, reports "Interfax-Ukraine".
The text of the relevant decree No. 600/2024 of August 30 is published on the website of the head of state.
As reported, Oleschuk was appointed commander of the Air Force on August 9, 2021, replacing Sergey Drozdov in this position. On the same day, he was introduced by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, during a working trip to Snake Island.
Later, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, commented on Oleschuk's dismissal.
"I decided to replace the commander of the Air Force of Ukraine. I am extremely grateful to all of our military pilots, engineers, soldiers from mobile fire groups and air defense units. To all those who are really fighting for Ukraine - for the result. And we need to do the same at the command level - we need to get stronger. And we have to take care of people. Let's take care of the staff. Take care of all our soldiers," he said in his evening address.
