American instructors have failed to train Ukrainian F-16 fighter pilots. This was stated by the Russian ambassador in Washington, Anatoly Antonov, quoted by TASS.
His words were about the recent crash of an American military plane in Ukraine.
Antonov mocked what may have been the downing of the first such fighter jet delivered to Kiev by a US-supplied Patriot missile battery. "The local instructors have failed to train the Ukrainians. "I can imagine how they would scream if they received information that the ill-fated plane was shot down by our soldiers," he pointed out.
Ukraine's General Staff earlier confirmed the loss of an F-16 fighter jet without providing details about the incident, including where it happened. The Ukrainian Air Force claims the plane crashed.
Ukrainian MP Maryana Bezuglaya suggested that the fighter was mistakenly shot down by a Patriot surface-to-air missile. and accused the army command of trying to cover up the incident.
After these accusations, Air Force Commander Nikolay issued threats to the deputy.
