Elon Musk conducts tests in Romania, unseen until now - 1

The satellite company “Starlink” of the American billionaire Elon Musk is conducting the tests in Romania with the consent and support of the National Authority for the Administration and Regulation of Communications (ANCOM), and the aim is to show through these attempts that a global regulation of the 90s that limits technically the new generation satellites, can be eased without affecting the work of classic satellites, Digi24 reports, referring to the site Profit.ro (Profit.ro), BTA reported.

According to the publication, Elon Musk wants to demonstrate that the “Starlink” can operate at up to eight times the capabilities currently allowed by the so-called Equivalent Power Flux Density (EPFD) limit of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). The company of the billionaire “SpaceX” (SpaceX), which controls “Starlink”, has long lobbied to increase the EPFD indicator limit, arguing that it is too low to achieve its goal.

The company recently asked the U.S. telecommunications regulator, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), to stop waiting for the rules to be changed by the International Telecommunication Union and relax regulation in the United States.

Romania is the first country in the world, on the territory of which similar type of tests are conducted. The national authority for the administration and regulation of communications will announce the results of the meetings of the International Telecommunications Union dedicated to the topic, it is clear from the publication.
