The Turkish Riviera: warm weather, lower prices and full hotels - 1

Autumn in the Mediterranean regions of Turkey is like summer. Air temperatures in October do not fall below 27-28 degrees in Alanya. It is a picturesque resort town with a population of about 350 thousand people, which is popularly called the Turkish Riviera. The azure waves of the eastern Mediterranean Sea are like a huge turquoise carpet that enchants the eye as far as it goes, BTA writes.

Alania's tourist season continues in full swing in October, local media reports. Tourists from nearly 140 countries are vacationing in nearly 70 holiday complexes, most of them five-star. Alanya also has its own airport, where dozens of passenger planes arrive and depart every day.

The heat of summer is gone, but the warm weather continues. The wonderful conditions for beach and recreation, spa services and last but not least - lower prices compared to summer attract tourists from all over the world, says Burhan Sili, chairman of the Association of Tourist Complexes in Alanya. According to him, thousands of tourists from Europe and other countries fill about 70 percent of the complexes this season because of the more favorable balance in terms of price-quality and the all-inclusive system.

It is expected that in November most of Alanya's hotels will be filled with nearly 50 percent of their capacity. According to the data of the association, the contingent of tourists from the "third age" has significantly increased in recent years. At the same time, the trend is to expand tourism throughout the year under the motto ”four seasons tourism in the city of the four seasons”.

Mid-term and long-term programs have been developed, in which the emphasis is not only on the sea, sand and sun, but also on health, sports and cultural tourism, according to the newspaper “Yeni Alaniya”. An important place in the programs is occupied by the expansion of cultural tourism. Among the sites of cultural tourism are the Alanya Fortress, known as the summer capital of the Seljuk Turks, and the ancient city of Siedra from 3500 years ago. The excavations revealed many artifacts such as a Heracles mosaic, a colonnaded street, a boulevard, statues of goddesses, and an early Christian baptismal cave.
