Burkina Faso's ruling military junta last night published a decree removing Prime Minister Apollinaire Joaquim Kiellem de Tambella from office and announced the dissolution of the national government , reported the Associated Press, quoted by BTA.
Junta leader Ibrahim Traore's decree states that officials from the dissolved government will continue to perform their duties until a new cabinet is formed. No explanation is given for the decision.
Burkina Faso's junta took power in September 2022 after ousting Lt. Col. Paul-Henri Sandaogo Damiba, who in turn overthrew democratically elected President Roque Marc Kabore eight months earlier.
